Consultant Paediatric Neurologist
Specialist experience centred on each child
Dr Jalloh is a Consultant Paediatric Neurologist in specialist private practice. His training and clinical experience span several African healthcare systems, supported by a strong background in academic medicine, clinical research and paediatric neurophysiology.
He assesses and manages infants, children and adolescents with epilepsy and complex seizure disorders, developmental and epileptic encephalopathies, developmental and neurodevelopmental disorders, cerebral palsy and spasticity, neuromuscular disorders, movement disorders, headaches, neurogenetic disorders and other complex paediatric neurological conditions.
Clinical neurophysiology
The practice provides EEG and prolonged or video EEG monitoring, nerve conduction studies, EMG, evoked potentials and paediatric sleep studies. Spasticity management and botulinum toxin treatment are available for appropriately selected children.

Specialist training
His major specialist and subspecialist training in Paediatrics and Paediatric Neurology was completed through the University of Cape Town and Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital. He also undertook paediatric postgraduate training at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre, Malawi, completed his Diploma in Child Health through the University of Sydney, and received his earlier medical education at the University of Sierra Leone.
His earlier clinical work included service in the Sierra Leone public health system. He later worked as a Consultant Paediatric Neurologist in the South African public healthcare sector before moving into full-time specialist private practice.
Academic work, teaching and research
Dr Jalloh remains active in academic paediatrics, paediatric neurology, clinical teaching and research. He is a PhD candidate in Paediatrics and Child Health at Makerere University, Uganda. His doctoral research focuses on Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy, including disease characterisation and challenges in diagnosis and access to care in Sierra Leone and the wider sub-Saharan African setting.
His previous academic and research work includes Duchenne muscular dystrophy, neuromuscular disease, epilepsy, pharmacovigilance and adverse drug reactions, and paediatric neurological disease in sub-Saharan Africa. He has contributed to undergraduate and postgraduate clinical teaching and the training of doctors and other healthcare professionals.
